Additional Information This guide is written with the intent of the "Folder Structure" to be created on the system hard drive (C:\). |
Media Center Master can be configured for automation in one of three ways to, download video files, and/or fetch meta-data:
- TV Series Episodes and Movies,
- TV Series Episodes, only, or
- Movies, only.
In either case Media Center Master will need a Separate Folder for TV Series, and/or one for Movies to move downloaded videos to and have a place to save fetched meta-data and images related to the videos.
Example:
- My Videos
- Movies Archive
- TV Series Archive
Additional Information
|
Any existing, prior, TV Series Collection, not parsed by Media Center Master will need to follow the folder and file structure, listed below, in order to fetch meta-data.
The additional information listed below is for a basic understanding of how Media Center Master works with this folder structure, and for easing through the transition of; the installation and initial set-up, to the actual use of Media Center Master.
After installation and set-up, a user will add a TV Series manually through Media Center Master. The user defined TV Series Named Folder (Covert Affairs is used in the example, below) will be created by Media Center Master. At the same time Media Center Master will acquire other files; backdrop.jpg(1), banner.jpg(2), folder.jpg(3), and series.xml(4), associated with the TV Series from an online meta-data source and add them to this folder, if available.
Example:
- My Videos
- Movies Archive
- TV Series Archive
- Covert Affairs
- backdrop.jpg
- banner.jpg
- folder.jpg
- series.xml
- Covert Affairs
Through the integration feature Media Center Master will notice a completed download file. Media Center Master will run the file through a cleaning process to remove tags, stop-words (e.g. - the, and, a), replace punctuation with spaces... to obtain a usable TV Series Name, possible beginning year date, season and episode numbers. Upon finding a fetcher site with a match, a completed torrent file looking like:
- Covert Affairs S02E01 720p HDTV x264-IMMERSE.avi
- will be renamed to (dependent upon user settings):
- Covert Affairs-S02E01-Begin the Begin.avi
- and be ready for moving into the TV Series Archive.
Additional Information
XYY* - three (3) digit season, and episode numbers only if the episodes numbers are listed at theTVDB. |
A numbered “Season” Folder will be added to the TV Series folder when a new TV Series Episode (Covert Affairs-S02E01-Begin the Begin.avi is use in the example, below) is being moved from uTorret's "Completed Downloads" folder into the TV Series Archive Folder. A folder.jpg file will be included if found for the season. If there is no TV Series Episodes for particular season, no “Season” Folder will be created.
Example:
- My Videos
- Movies Archive
- TV Series Archive
- Covert Affairs
- Season 2
- Covert Affairs-S02E01-Begin the Begin.avi
- folder.jpg
- backdrop.jpg
- banner.jpg
- folder.jpg
- series.xml
- Season 2
- Covert Affairs
The processing/parsing will continue and fetch meta-data relating to the episode and an image thumbnail from the video file, if available. These files will be stored in a hidden folder named: "metadata."
Example:
- My Videos
- Movies Archive
- TV Series Archive
- Covert Affairs
