The key to Installing Media Center Master free from problems, the first time, is Preparation and Basic Knowledge of How it works.
+

MCM is a front-end interface that automates the organizing of a media collection with the use of a BitTorrent Client, “uTorrent” for downloading TV Series Episodes and/or Movies in the background.  For MCM and uTorrent to work properly together there are a few important issues to prepare for and understand before installing MCM.
+

+
The Preliminary Installation Guides have been written with the intent that the user has an interest in creating a media collection from scratch (has no TV Series/Movies) and has some knowledge and experience with BitTorrentsThe Main focus of these guides will be to prepare for a fresh, new, installation of, both, MCM, and uTorrent, for a new media collection to be used for keeping TV Series up to date with current episodes.

For users who already have an instance of uTorrent installed with custom user settings, there will be no guidance given for trouble shooting problems if these guides are used with an existing installIt is therefore suggested that the user uninstall uTorrent remembering to check the tick box to also remove the user settings during the uninstall process, and then reinstallAny changes to the settings a user wishes to make, to uTorrent that is not listed in these guides, should be done after the user has MCM up and running smoothly with the use of these guides.

The first set of issues of concern is MCM and uTorrent, both, require separate dedicated Folder Structure for file storage to operate correctly.  Setting up and understanding the basic principles of the two (2) Folder Structures ahead of time will make the installations, and set-ups of MCM and uTorrent go a lot smoother, with the least amount of problems.  This information will also assist a user in preparing an existing media collection to be added in later.
+

+
The second issue of concern is MCM uses uTorrent’s Web User Interface (WebUI) to integrate these two programs together.  The WebUI is what allows MCM to hand off a .torrent file it has fetched from an online source to uTorrent for proper downloading of the desired TV Series Episodes/Movies.  It is also used by MCM for monitoring the progress of downloads to inform MCM a download has completed and is ready for parsing.
+

+
In addition to uTorrent, MCM requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 with SP1 update.  If this is already installed on your system, there is no additional set-up for this program.  It works internally with the MCM program.  If it is not installed, links will be provided for downloads.

In order to reduce the problems associated with this initial installation and set-up of MCM, the information found here will not include instructions on how to set-up MCM for downloading Movies or any information about preparing and/or adding an existing media collection to MCM.  Nor will there be any information given for interfacing a media collection with any Media Center Programs, such as: Windows Media Center, MediaBrowser, or XBMC.  These items/issues can be added in and set-up later. Keep in mind this guide is for strictly for preparing to install MCM, so a user can get it up and running with no problems.

Introduction

Media Center Master is a powerful, multipurpose, front-end interface that automates the organizing of video files, meta-data files, and image files for a media collection. It supports several Media Center applications and products, XBMC, Popcorn Hour, Windows Media Center, Media Browser... At it's core is a meta fetcher, the most important feature of the "Free License" version, which handles the processing of video related text and image files. Using a "Premium License" version with “uTorrent,” a BitTorrent Client, provides the user complete management of downloading TV Series Episodes and/or Movies, including the removal of; completed seeding downloads, completed .torrent files and data from the uTorrent GUI. Additional features of the "Premium License" version provides downloading of Theatrical Trailers, and Subtitles.

The only requirement necessary for an installation of Media Center Master is the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 be pre-installed.

For most users, downloading and installing Media Center Master is a straightforward task. Although, Media Center Master installs with a set of default options, there are however several options left for the user to configure, depending on the set-up used.

The installation guides are written with an intent the user has an interest in creating a media collection from scratch, has some knowledge and experience with BitTorrents. The Main focus of the installation guides is to complete a successful first run, test, by:

  1. Preparing for,
  2. Installing, and
  3. Configuring
    1. An instance of Media Center Master integrated with
    2. An instance of uTorrent
  4. To automatically;
    1. Create a TV Series folder,
    2. Create season folder/s,
    3. Download, rename, and move
  • Episodes, related text, and image files to
  • Corresponding folders,
  • Located on the system hard drive of a computer.

To reduce errors with a first time configuration set-up for all users of Media Center Master, the installation guides will not include instructions on how to set configurations for downloading Movies, Trailers, or Actors/Cast/Crew Members Thumbnails..., nor will there be any information about preparing and/or adding an existing media collection to Media Center Master. There will be no instructions given for networking/interfacing a media collection with any Media Center programs or products (e.g., Windows Media Center, MediaPortal, MediaBrowser, Popcorn Hour, or XBMC). These extras require, separate, individual preparations and customized user settings, and are not used by all users.
