Step 1 - The easiest way to find out if the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 with SP1 update is required:
+
*Use [http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html ASoft’s .NET Version Detector].
+
:*The download link is located at the bottom of their page.

::*''Just delete the file, if saved, for clean-up.''
+
:*''With a Zip Utility installed, it is not necessary to save the file.''
+
::*''Just open the file link, and double click the "dotnet.exe" file in the Zip Utility Application, when it pops up.''
+
</blockquote></blockquote></blockquote>
+

+

+
Step 2 - Look for the ".NET FW 3.5 SP1" in the list at the bottom of the detector application's "blue" window.
+
*If the ".NET FW 3.5 SP1" is in the list, continue to the next guide, "How to Install Media Center Master.
+
*If the ".NET FW 3.5 SP1" is not in the list, locate and click the green download button to the left of Microsoft .Net 3.5 Service Pack 1.
+
:*Follow the link and instructions to download and install the Microsoft .Net 3.5 Framework with Service Pack 1.
+

+

+

+

+
Step 3 - To verify it installed correctly:
+
*Bookmark this page, so you may return to it after rebooting.
+
:*Reboot the system.
+
*Return to this page.

The current version of Media Center Master is 2.14. Version 1.32 has been used for many the examples in the wiki, so beware that some of the options may be expanded or look different than various screen shots.

Official/Unofficial Wiki Pages Most of the content on the wiki was written by fans and users like yourself. If a page is marked as Official, then the content was written with official information (usually by the software author).

The intended purpose of this section is for it to be used as a complete manual for a first time installation of Media Center Master. Starting with the "Installation Notes" and finishing with a successful first run.

Additional Information
  • Screen shot examples are taken from a Windows XP Operating System.
  • Clicking on an image will bring up a view of the image in it's original size.
  • Where major differences between operating systems occur; examples from a Windows 7 Operating System are included.

All of the installation guides are written for a new user of Media Center Master using a Premium License Version. Users wishing the use these guides with a Free Version may also use them, as limited by the license restrictions. These guides are written as a fundamental building block in the beginning sections, by condensing and simplifying the actual processing actions of Media Center Master's operations . As a user gets deeper into the installation guides, more of the technical processes are revealed, and the user becomes better prepared for other sections of this reference guide.

Although the guides are specifically written for a new user, they are designed to be "user friendly" for all users. This is done with the use of screen shots and information boxes. A large majority of the steps outlined in the guides include a screen shot to give the user a visual of the outlined steps. The steps in each guide are outlined in a numbered format, if more than one step is required. Located above (a) step/s may be an outlined box, or several boxes, containing additional information relating to the step/s, but the information in the box is not required to complete the step/s. These boxes are classed for four (4) different levels of additional information. The levels range as listed:

  1. Warning Box
May be used to inform the user of possible deletion/loss of video files, meta-date, images...
  2. Acknowledgement Box
May be used to inform the user of a possible miss usage of the steps (e.g., the steps shown in the guides are designed for a specific outcome, should a user not follow the guides one by one, in order, the users outcome will be different from what is shown in the guides.
  3. Specific Information Box
May be used to inform the user additional steps in another guide are also required to complete the how and why explanations given in an "Additional Information" box.
  4. Additional Information Box
May be used to inform the user what part of the automation process is affected and/or how the step/s affect the automation process...,

The information provided for each box description is not complete, but given for examples to understand their intent. Using information boxes, as containers for additional information, provides a method where an advance user can skim through the guides, quickly, by just reading the steps, avoiding the additional information listed in the boxes.
